Frequently Asked Questions

General

Before contacting us you should have a general idea of what dates you want to travel, how many nights (not days) you have available for your trip, how many people are traveling, and what the rooming configuration will be. For example, we are 3 couples who want to travel to Spain for 12 nights, sometime between May 1, and May 18, we want one room for each couple all with king-sized beds.

When it comes to planning trips of a lifetime, the more advanced time, the better the trip turns out. Most of our clients contact us 6-9 months ahead of when they want to travel. That being said, we have successfully planned very complicated trips with as little as 48 hours’ advance notice.

You will certainly need a valid passport that will remain valid for at least six months after your trip finishes. Visas and other travel documents vary according to the nationality of your passport and the destination you’ll be visiting.

Yes! We do not provide refunds. You should protect your investment in your Cosmopolitours trip of a lifetime against unforeseeable circumstances like for example, a hurricane, a national transportation union work stoppage, and/or a global pandemic by purchasing travel insurance. Squaremouth is an excellent site to compare the best prices among the best travel insurance policies.

Payment & Cost

We are happy to provide a free consultation, and then if you are seriously considering booking with us, a quote.

A quote is not the same as an itinerary. A quote is a brief outline of the bullet points of your trip that we talked about during your consultation, with a total price. After booking your quote, your quote will eventually be hugely expanded and transform your detailed itinerary.

Typically our trip costs include nightly lodgings, daily breakfasts, activities costs like expert guides and entry fees, daily transportation to get you around to your activities, and transportation between destinations.

International flights, Visas, meals other than breakfasts, tips and gratuities, and hotel extra charges like room service, mini-bar, or laundry, are usually not included in our trip price.

Other

Our itineraries require hours and hours of hard work and coordination, so we don’t give them out for free. We sometimes, after discussion, provide an edited sample itinerary of a past trip that might be similar to yours, just so that you can get an idea of the level of care and detail that we put into planning your trip. But because all of our itineraries are handcrafted, our sample itineraries usually have a lot of that previous client’s tours, lodging, and meals redacted.

You will need to book your own international flights to and from whatever country you’ll be visiting. Your in-country transportation, including flights, will be booked by us.

No. After years of experience, we have found that we need to arrange your lodgings. We have a lot of specific knowledge about where to stay to be convenient for your movements and for your comfort, even down to which rooms we prefer to avoid noise. We have relationships with the staff and management of the properties we use that give our clients a huge personalized service advantage.

When planning your custom trip we’ll discuss lodging options to fit your budget and lifestyle.
